ARIEN AUS STEIN is a concert with stories dedicated to a public space by musician and choreographer duo SKILLS. They are asking what meanings niches, corners or gaps have in the midst of increasing gentrification and what effects privatisation and commercialisation have on public space? With their new work SKILLS create a performative monument to St. Pauli’s Balduin Staircase.

In three seperate and independent concert-performances we transfer and translate between urbanic space and theater space. WELCOME TO HELL is a coproduction of SKILLS, Kampnagel Hamburg and WUK performing arts Vienna.

WELCOME TO HELL is a game with meaning and effect of the mascerade/’Vermummung’. A multitude of youtube-videos document the demonstration with the same name which was violently attacked and interrupted at the G20 meeting in Hamburg in 2017.

Together with a seria of performances of mascerading within the public space, which we develope in Vienna and Berlin and which will become part of a documentary archive, we will feed our concert-performance.

WELCOME TO HELL will premiere october 2018 at Kampnagel Hamburg.
